What cold-pressed hemp protein means
Cantein is cold-pressed. Seeds are mechanically pressed at low temperature. No hexane, no chemical solvents, no high-heat extraction.
What that changes in the scoop
An isolate is refined to a protein percentage. Cold-pressed hemp keeps more of the seed with the protein. That is why Cantein labels still show fiber and minerals next to the gram count:
- Unflavored: 1 ingredient, 28g protein, 110 calories, 2g fiber, 0g fat, 0mg sodium per 35g scoop
- Vanilla or chocolate: 22g protein, 120 calories, 4g fat, 2g fiber per 35g scoop — the extra calories and fat come from MCT and the flavor system, not from solvent processing
What we do not do
We do not use hexane. We do not chemically isolate the protein and then add the flavor back. Unflavored Cantein is organic hemp protein, full stop. Flavored bags add organic MCT (from coconut), organic flavor, organic monk fruit, and salt — six ingredients total, 0g added sugar.
Process notes live next to the lab notes: how Cantein is tested and what’s in the bag.
