80% hemp protein powder

Hemp protein powder 80 percent means about 80g of protein in 100g of powder. Most retail hemp powders land closer to 43–63% because they keep more of the seed's fiber. If you want concentrated protein rather than a fiber-forward scoop, percentage by weight is the number to compare.

Disclosure: I run Cantein. Cantein Unflavored is 28g of protein in a 35g scoop, which is 80% by weight.

80% protein by weight • 28g per 35g scoop • USDA Organic • One ingredient

Powder Serving Protein Protein by weight Fiber Grown in
Cantein Unflavored 35g 28g 80% 2g China (Heilongjiang)
Manitoba Harvest Max Protein Unsweetened 32g 20g 63% 3g Canada
Nutiva Organic Hemp Protein (Peak) 30g 15g 50% 6g Canada / Lithuania
Anthony's Organic Hemp Seed Protein 30g 15g 50% 6g Canada, Romania, Lithuania
Navitas Organics Hemp Powder 30g 13g ~43% 7g Canada

Protein by weight is protein ÷ serving size. Facts from each brand's label or product page (same set as our best hemp protein powder comparison).

Why most hemp is not 80%

After oil is pressed from hemp seeds, the remaining cake still holds fiber. Lower-percentage powders keep more of that fiber. Higher-percentage powders are sifted or processed toward protein. You get more protein per calorie and per scoop, and less fiber per scoop.

Who 80% hemp is for

  • You want protein density closer to isolates without using pea or whey.
  • You already get fiber elsewhere and do not need 6–7g from the powder.
  • You want a one-ingredient organic label.

Who should pick a lower-percentage hemp instead: anyone shopping mainly for fiber, or anyone who prioritizes Canadian origin over max protein per scoop. Nutiva and Navitas win on fiber. Manitoba Max sits in between.

Cantein Unflavored numbers

28g protein, 110 calories, 2g fiber, 0mg sodium per 35g scoop. USDA Organic. Vanilla and chocolate are 22g protein per scoop with organic monk fruit and 0g added sugar. Heavy-metal sample results: third-party tested protein powder.

  • Where it loses: higher price per 20g of protein than Anthony's; least fiber on the table; Chinese origin if that matters to you.

The short version

High protein hemp powder at ~80% is uncommon on shelf. Cantein Unflavored is built for that spec. If you want fiber-forward hemp, buy Navitas or Nutiva instead.
